From a handful of paddlers to a thriving club.
It all began in early 2012 with a few Brisbanites passionate about improving their fitness through stand-up paddling. By 2013, interest had grown rapidly and the club formed.
Within four months, BrisSUP had over 50 members and 270 Facebook followers. By 2020, membership exceeded 170 with more than 2,000 Facebook followers. BrisSUPers are a friendly bunch who enjoy paddling in the beautiful estuaries, lakes, inlets, bays and creeks around Brisbane.
While numbers have fluctuated over the years, we continue to welcome new and long-standing members. Join us on regular social paddles for a fun, family day out — anyone of any age or skill level can attend. We also host a race series for those wanting to challenge themselves and improve technique in a supportive environment.
In 2023 we proudly celebrated BrisSUP's 10th Anniversary. Our flagship race, the Coochie Classic, carries world-ranking recognition and remains a highlight of the Queensland SUP calendar.
Relaxed paddles, great company.
Regular social paddles take us to iconic spots across Brisbane and Moreton Bay — Raby Bay, Cleveland, Manly Harbour, and beyond. Open to all ages and skill levels, each paddle is followed by time to socialise. Spot dolphins, dugongs, and each other along the way.
Whether it's a scenic cruise through the mangroves at Manly or a paddle spotting wildlife at Raby Bay, social paddles are the heart of BrisSUP community life.
